Ok, so I used a layout from this site topbun.com. However, I tried to add stuff like online icons, graphic icons, and other embedded stuff but it won't show on my page. What could it be?

I didn't have a problem with doing all those things with just a myspace background generator. So the layout doesn't support embedded materials? Is it like that with most layouts you use for myspace? Finally, what can I do? I really like the layouts I picked but I want to add more stuff too! Can somebody recommend some layout sites I can go to that will support that kind of stuff?Thanks!

it could be that the background is on top of the other things you are trying to add, so they are there you just can't see them. You could try getting the code for the icons etc. from a different place so you can still use the background.

lol i would just copy those codes and paste on where-ever i want.

However, those codes can be created using:

-Hold Alt+ pressing random numbers on number pad on the right of your keyboard. (eg: Alt + 3 4 6 2 4)

-Using character maps in Windows by following this instruction:

+Start %26gt; All Programs %26gt; Accessories %26gt; System tools %26gt; Character map

In here, you should have a lot of fonts, just choose a font you like, look for the symbol, and double-click on it. then you can copy + paste it.

If I understand you correctly, you want to put an icon in the caption area for a picture. To do this, the picture needs to be uploaded to the web. If it is located on your computer only, no one else will be able to see it when they look at your MySpace page.

After having said that, if you have this icon already in your headline, then it must already be somewhere on the web.

Go to Edit Profile and look at your Headline section. Is there an image tag that looks like %26lt;img src="http://location of file/file_name.jpg"%26gt;? Select and copy everything from the first "%26lt;" to the "%26gt;" at the end.

Go back to Home and click on Add/Edit Photos. Find the picture you want to add a caption for and click -Add Caption- underneath it. Paste the image tag into the caption area using Ctrl-V or just right-click in the space and select Paste. You should see %26lt;img src="http://location of file/file_name.jpg"%26gt; in the box. Add any additional text, then click -Update Caption-.

You should get the Confirm Caption page showing the icon, not just the text, if you did it correctly. If no picture, then try again from the beginning, making sure you got everything from your headline section.

Click on the Post Caption button, then voila! You should have it.

You can put the code at the top of the about me, or any place you are keeping style blocks.

The code works in ALL page locations where the online now icon shows up, and the icon actually goes away when myspace detects you have logged off.

If you have trouble making it work, leave me a message on that site, and I will help you.

I have tested the code at all of the above sites, and some of it works for a PERMANENT icon (which remains there even after myspace detects you have logged off).

None of it works in the friend and comment spaces at all.

You can simply add stuff to the caption with HTML coding.

In the caption, to add a picture, enter:

... and if the picture is too big, enter 'width="50%" height="50%"' (or whatever percent of the image size you want) after the 'src' bit, before the tag closes with the bracket '%26gt;'.

To add colour to the text, enter:

%26lt;font color="#000000"%26gt;TEXT HERE%26lt;/font%26gt;

... you can make those six digits after the hash anything you want, numeric or letters. The letters usually go from A-F. 000000 is black, and FFFFFF is white. Experiment with the colour codes a bit, or if you can be bothered, Google "hexidecimal colour table".

Everytime I Try Too Log Into My Myspace Account, It Says... "Sorry! Myspace has Experience a Technical Error, this Error has been Forward Too Myspace Technical Support". But... Then when I Click On the Home Icon, It takes me Back too the Myspace Homepage. But... When I click on the Home Icon again, It takes me to My Myspace Page. I get that a lot too, so it's not just you. I'm guessing it must be a bug in Myspace that we have to put up with, and by the way it happens to me with Explorer and Firefox, and exactly as you described it, but as long as it still works! Hun if you are getting these error that may well be that you are being phished. Writing to Tom will not help you nor writing to myspace. For one, myspace may never get back with you on the issue and Tom does not give tech subport. The best thing to do is to clear all your temps and cookies. Make sure that you sign out first before you clear them. And close out the window all together and then start it up again. Now, there are cookies that these web site are allowed to place within your system that are good for you becuase it helps them remember who you are. However, some cookies are password and e-mail stealers. You can block these hack sites by going to you tool bar at the top of you ISP and/or windows browser. That is if you have windows. Doesn't matter. You should be able to find it. Click the tools tab and and look for internet options and a windows pop up will be in view. Look for your privacy tab and click that to you see sites. Click sites and add the url to the site that you want to block. Just do not block myspace. If you block myspace you will not be able to log in at all for that matter. I am trying to find an eeyore myspace.com background. I found an eeyore icon on mypimpspace.com and got the code for using it as a background, but after I paste it in and view my profile it is behind everything; usually the words are on top of the background and on mine all you see is the standard profile with a little bit of the background visible at the top. Click on edit ,,you ll get the HTML version.save it for reference.open notepad or word pad..Paste your code there..Change where it says back ground image to overlay..and so on...you ll figure it out..I'm danz44 there..look me up and tell me if it works..there's a few other options .

in my experience......div layouts on myspace dnt work unless your page is practically empty.....meaning no icons, vids, and barely any writing descriptions. nope, sorry. when you use a div overlay, you usally have to have a code using a style sheet which hides everything. it's called a blankslate. you can't get it from a website easily, because it's usually made from scratch. if you have a div overlay, it's covering the normal layout so tht you can make whatever you want. so sorry, but no.

HI! I don't mean to sound sarcastic or anything but why are you still using IE? Firefox is a much better way to access the internet and if you have no problems on it then why go to anything else? From what I have been reading from the people here on YA , they all seem to be having problems with IE. I use Safari and firefox and never have a problem with either. For a MySpace headline picture...?

I want to put a picture as my MySpace headline. It's just a little icon. It's already saved to My Pictures on my computer and everything, and the code fits in the box where you put a headline, but when I go to Preview Profile, only the code is there. Am I doing something wrong?

There are a couple of reasons the image isn't showing up. First, you can't view files saved to your desktop from the Internet -- it's just not possible, and if it was, everyone would have access to your data. BIG trouble. Second, MySpace only allows a certain number of characters in their headlines, and a long filename such as My Computer/My Documents/My Pictures/graphics/my spiffy new headline.jpg is probably too long. While it may show up fine when you're editing, it might get truncated after it is saved. It could also be throwing errors because of the spaces in the file name -- when entering a filename, either for a link or a picture, always change the spaces to their "encoded" format, which is "%20".

So, the first thing you need to do is upload the image to a host -- there are tons of free hosting companies online, from photobucket to tinypic to supload. Because it's a free service, though, the image can only be viewed so many times, so if you intend on becoming e-famous you should upgrade to a paid account.

When you create the account and upload the picture, you will be given a code that you can copy and paste into your headline. Remember take the name short -- "headline" should suffice -- and if there are any spaces in the name, encode them as I instructed above.

It depends on what version(s) of Photoshop you have, but it's quite easy with Photoshop 7. All you have to do is open a new canvas in whatever size you'd like; AIM icons are 64x64 pixels, for example. Once your window is open, create your icon with brushes, paint tools, etc. There are websites where you can download extra brushes for more effects. When you're done, save the image as a .psd. Once that's done, go to File%26gt;Save for Web... and select the file type you want the image to be. There are different qualities of JPEGs and GIFs. Dithered GIFs are higher quality, but they take up more space. When you've selected your image file size, click save, and you're done!

In order to make your icons move, you need Adobe ImageReady. I don't remember exactly how to do it, as it's been a while since I made my last icon, but here's one tutorial to help you get going: http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photosh... Hope all this helps. When you find a pic on Google save it to your computer. Next, go to http://tinypic.com/ and upload the photo. Now it will take you to a page with a series of codes. Copy the first code (under where it says HTML for Websites). Now paste that code to where you want it on your myspace (just like you do with the iconator codes) and you're done!!

Quicktime has had a server go down and they have slowly been restoring it. just be patient and keep checking back, it'll start working eventually.

My myspace page recently started coming up with an icon that says "photobucket bandwidth exceeded, upgrade to pro". It is a white and blue box, and it covers the upper left hand corner of my page. Also, there's a smaller identical icon a bit farther down on the page. When I click on the icon, it brings me to MySpace Login (www.myspaceloginx.com), not photobucket. I hadn't changed anything on my page prior to this icon coming up. Help!

because they're entirely too long for the caption space

since it can only hold a limited amount of characters.

get a picture from tinypic.com and/or upload one yourself.

then use this code for the caption space.

It takes about 10- 15 minutes after logging off to go away, unless you are logged onto Myspace IM. Also, if you have an online now icon fron another site, some usually don't stop blinking even when you log off and it looks like you are on 24/7.

When you're at your photobucket page and are copying the link, copy the html code and not the url link. That's probably what's wrong. The url is just a url, the html code will put it on your site.
