For a MySpace headline picture...?

I want to put a picture as my MySpace headline. It's just a little icon. It's already saved to My Pictures on my computer and everything, and the code fits in the box where you put a headline, but when I go to Preview Profile, only the code is there. Am I doing something wrong?

There are a couple of reasons the image isn't showing up. First, you can't view files saved to your desktop from the Internet -- it's just not possible, and if it was, everyone would have access to your data. BIG trouble. Second, MySpace only allows a certain number of characters in their headlines, and a long filename such as My Computer/My Documents/My Pictures/graphics/my spiffy new headline.jpg is probably too long. While it may show up fine when you're editing, it might get truncated after it is saved. It could also be throwing errors because of the spaces in the file name -- when entering a filename, either for a link or a picture, always change the spaces to their "encoded" format, which is "%20".

So, the first thing you need to do is upload the image to a host -- there are tons of free hosting companies online, from photobucket to tinypic to supload. Because it's a free service, though, the image can only be viewed so many times, so if you intend on becoming e-famous you should upgrade to a paid account.

When you create the account and upload the picture, you will be given a code that you can copy and paste into your headline. Remember take the name short -- "headline" should suffice -- and if there are any spaces in the name, encode them as I instructed above.

Use a tinypic or Photobucket picture. They work when you use the embedding code on your headline.

tinypic.com and make an account, then download the picture files

photobucket.com and do the same.

If your only PREVIEWING your profile, you might only see the code so try leaving it there and "save all changes" then go to your profile page and see if it's there. Unless there is something wrong with the html code, it should work.

the source for your image needs to be online so if it is saved in your pic on your comp you need to find somewhere to upload it to kinda like tinypics.com like posted earlier

uhmm well if you have photobutcket then u can download it on there and then get the html tag (code) and then paste it in wherever you would write your headline......if that's wat you did then i realy dont no maybe its just myspace maybe there fixing it up at the time and shtuff=]
