How do i turn one of the parts of a video into a moving myspace icon?

First you'll need MovToGif (http://www.evanolds.com/MovToGIF.zip ). This does what it sounds like.

Extract the ZIP file and run MovToGif.exe, then Click "File", then Click "Open file...", find your movie and Double-click it.

If you get error trying to open your movie or it doesn't show up in the file browser (like with Youtube videos) then scroll down to "THE FIX" otherwise continue reading. Drag the slider to where you would like to start your animation, Click the left hand "{"

drag the slider to where you want you're animation to end, Click the right hand "}"

Click "Export", then Click "Export to animated GIF...". Now give you animation a name, Click "Save", if you want you can half size your animation now to

(for more sizing options: follow the steps described in "THE FIX" and change the 90x68 into some other set of demensions)

Click "OK".

Your done! Rinse, Lather, and Repeat for more!

**************** THE FIX ****************

Sadly most formats will not work with MovToGif.

So go get WinFF (http://biggmatt.com/files/winffsetup.exe ), this will change any video file you got into something that MovToGif can use.

Install WinFF, open it, "Add" your video file and pick an "Output folder". Then set the "Convert to...." box to "NTSC DVD Fast (LQ)". When you're window looks like this:

Click on "Options" and then fill in the four fields: "Frame Rate: 24", "Video Size: 90x68", and "Additional Command Line Parameters (advanced): -an". Or you can just copy this:

Now you can click convert. Return to the above steps using this new MPG file, and everything should go fine.
